CaringMatters is honored to present Mike Springirth with the 2026 Voice of the Mission Award in recognition of his extraordinary talent, generosity, and dedication to helping tell the stories that bring our mission to life.

For more than eight years, Mike has generously shared his time, expertise, and creative vision to help CaringMatters amplify the voices of those we serve. As a videographer and producer with Montgomery County Council Television, he understands the power of storytelling to inspire connection, compassion, and action. Through his work behind the camera, he has captured the heart of CaringMatters with authenticity, sensitivity, and remarkable skill.

Mike’s commitment to caregiving and compassion is also deeply personal. He shares that what draws him to CaringMatters is the authenticity of the work—he sees it as genuine, grounded, and real. In his words, everyone associated with CaringMatters truly “lives your mission.” His appreciation comes from lived experience: Mike had two brothers who received hospice care, and he continues to hold deep gratitude and respect for the professionals who supported his family during that time. He has also been a caregiver for his mother, an experience that gave him first-hand understanding of how demanding and emotional that role can be, and reinforced his belief that caregiving requires a team and strong support systems.

 

From highlighting the experiences of grieving children and families to showcasing the impact of our volunteers and programs, Mike’s videos have helped countless people better understand the challenges of serious illness, caregiving, loss, and grief. His most recent work chronicling Camp Erin Montgomery County beautifully captured the resilience, healing, and hope that emerge when grieving children find support and community.

Mike’s commitment extends far beyond his professional expertise. Time and again, he has volunteered his talents to advance our mission, including producing videos for our planned giving initiative and other special projects. He approaches every story with genuine curiosity, compassion, and respect, ensuring that those who share their experiences feel seen, heard, and valued.
