CaringMatters is proud to present Bill Hard with the 2025 Jerry Gimmel Loyalty Award in recognition of his extraordinary vision, compassion, and dedication. For more than two decades, Bill has played a vital role in our growth and sustainability, helping expand our reach and deepen our impact across Montgomery County.

 

Bill’s journey with CaringMatters began through his late wife, Pam—a devoted hospice volunteer. After witnessing her commitment to our mission and the compassionate care she received during her own cancer journey, Bill became deeply invested in advancing our work. Since Pam’s passing in 2020, he has honored her legacy by raising critical funds and inspiring others to give back.

 

As Vice Chair of the Board and former Development Committee Chair, Bill’s leadership has been transformational. He helped launch our Major Donor Outreach Initiative, became our first Annual Charter Sponsor, and continues to play a key role in building lasting donor and sponsor relationships. Perhaps most powerfully, Bill helped establish the Pam Hard Legacy Circle, launching our planned giving program and ensuring Pam’s spirit and values will help sustain CaringMatters for years to come.

 

Bill’s creativity and drive have brought new energy to our fundraising efforts—from launching Golfing for Good to organizing our first charity golf tournament, which sold out three months in advance and raised nearly $85,000 in 2024. With a successful fundraising model in place, he’s leading efforts for an even more ambitious golf tournament coming this fall.

 

Beyond his leadership, Bill is a hands-on volunteer. He drives regularly for our JustRides program, helps staff bring big projects, like our new patio, to life, and serves on our Strategic Planning Workgroup. He has also introduced many friends and former colleagues to CaringMatters, warmly welcoming them into our community through “friend-raisers,” golf outings, and personal connections.
