Audrey R. Rothstein, CAE

Immediate Past Chair, Board of Directors

Audrey R. Rothstein has more than 30 years of experience in association and nonprofit management. She is a Certified Association Executive who has led strategic planning initiatives and communications programs at associations and nonprofits in the United States and India. She has been involved with CaringMatters since 2014, serving on its Board since 2015. She was named Board Chair in 2019 and completed her term in 2024. She remains on the Executive Committee as the Immediate Past Chair.

She brought many years of experience in the field of children’s bereavement, directing and volunteering for children’s grief camps. Audrey’s personal experience of raising three young children, including two whose birth mother had died, also helped inform her understanding of the need for bereavement services for all ages.

After taking our volunteer training, her involvement with CaringMatters deepened and extended to all corners of the organization: providing one-on-one care to a long-time client who had ALS; participating in our specialized training programs; photographing our campers.

Audrey previously held staff leadership positions at the Association for Conflict Resolution, the American Occupational Therapy Association, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, and Child Life Council. She served on the Board of Directors of Circle Camps for Grieving Children, Inc., for 11 years and directed its flagship camp in Maine.

Her business, Audrey Rothstein Photography, specializes in portrait, family and event photography. Audrey contributes her skills as a professional photographer to document the CaringMatters story. One of her projects was this Camp Erin video.

For being an inspirational and visionary champion for CaringMatters, Audrey Rothstein was the recipient of the 2023 Jerry Gimmel Loyalty Award.
