Lauren Bogart
Board of Directors

Lauren Bogart joined the CaringMatters Board of Directors in 2026. A lifelong Montgomery County resident, Lauren is an estate planning attorney with West & Feinberg, P.C. in Bethesda.
Lauren brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her role on the Board. After losing her husband to a brain tumor while their three children were still very young, she gained a profound understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families coping with serious illness, caregiving, loss, and grief. As both a caregiver and a grieving parent, she navigated her husband's illness and end-of-life journey while supporting her children through their own grief experiences.
Inspired by these experiences, Lauren has published writings including “What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been” (Knowing Pains, Wingspan Press, 2009); “Heaven Sent?” (Washingtonian Magazine, May 2010); and a workbook for young children to process their feelings during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Memories of a Weird Year” (self published, 2021).
Lauren later worked in development for the National Brain Tumor Society and served as a hospice volunteer with JSSA. She is also the immediate past President of the Temple Beth Ami Board of Directors and continues to serve on its Board.
Lauren began her legal career at Crowell & Moring in Washington, D.C., where she practiced health care, tax, and government contracts law. She later worked for a Washington, D.C. area firm specializing in insurance law before focusing her practice on estate planning.
She earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1992 and her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1989.
