Gerald K. Gimmel, Esq.
Board of Trustees
Gerald K. Gimmel joined the CaringMatters’ Board member in 1991 and served as the Board Chair from 1998 to 2002. Most recently, he served as the Parliamentarian/Historian and oversaw bylaws and formal board procedures, as well as maintained the history of organization. He transitioned off the Board of Directors in 2018 and became of member of Board of Trustees.
A graduate of Georgetown University Law School, Gerald has been active in the estate planning field since 1967, and presently the majority of his practice involves estate planning, the drafting of appropriate documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, etc.) and the probating of estates. He was legal columnist for Leisure Living newspaper for several years, covering estate planning topics, and is a frequent lecturer on such topics to local groups and those approaching retirement.
Since opening his own practice in 1973, Gimmel, Weiman, Ersek, Blomberg & Lewis, P.A., he has been active in a number of community organizations, for several of which he received awards for outstanding service C Rotary (outstanding president 1988-89, District 7620) and Greater Gaithersburg Chamber of Commerce (Chamber Service Award 1995). He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the American, Maryland, Montgomery County (Maryland), and the District of Columbia Bar Associations.
