About the event

At the end of this talk, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the behavioral health care needs and concerns specific to LGBTQ older adults at end of life.
  • Discuss the palliative care needs that ALL people have, such as pain management, spiritual needs and emotional well-being.
  • Identify ways to offer services that are affirming, welcoming, and appropriate, advocating at all times in the interest of patient at end of life.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how family, culture, society and religious beliefs can influence healthcare decisions and outcomes at ends of life for LGBTQ individuals, “families” and care providers.
