Bruce Childs
Board of Directors

Bruce Childs retired in January 2024 after a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in commercial real estate and development. He began his career with national mechanical contractor and engineering firm John J. Kirlin, Inc., followed by Webb Sequoia, a Northern Virginia commercial real estate development company. He spent the majority of his career with Affinius Capital - USAA Real Estate Company and its affiliates, where he managed the Northeast Region, overseeing commercial real estate acquisitions and development.
A lifelong Montgomery County resident, Bruce is deeply committed to serving the community he has always called home. A trained CaringMatters volunteer, he serves in the Volunteer Helping Hands and JustRides programs and as a Big Buddy at Camp Erin, supporting children who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Bruce has also been an active member of the CaringMatters Golf Tournament Host Committee, helping grow support for one of the organization's signature fundraising events.
Bruce joined the CaringMatters Board of Directors in 2026, bringing both his professional expertise and firsthand volunteer experience to advance the organization's mission. He and his wife, Carol, have been married for 44 years and are proud parents of three children and grandparents to six grandchildren, all of whom live locally.
