Eva joined CaringMatters in 2020 as the Community Resource Specialist for a new CaringMatters program, Community Resource Connection. In her position, Eva works one-on-one with adult patients at The Aquilino Center newly diagnosed with cancer and their families, providing assistance accessing community resources.

Prior to joining CaringMatters, Eva has dedicated her 32 year career to creating opportunities for people with a full range of disabilities to fully participate in all aspects of life. From 1989 to 2009, she served as the Director of Inclusion at the Bender Jewish Community Center in Rockville, Maryland, where she coordinated and oversaw the inclusion of people with disabilities into all Center programs and activities. For 34 consecutive summers she has been a member of leadership team of Camp JCC, supervising the inclusion of campers with disabilities into camp and running the summer program for teens and young adults with multiple disabilities.

“Throughout my career, I have specialized in forging collaborative partnerships between community organizations and individuals in need of specialized support,” said Eva. “I’m looking forward to applying these skills and connections to help patients at the Aquilino Center connect with vital community resources, such as those at CaringMatters, so they can focus on healing and maintaining a good quality of life.”

Eva has served on the Maryland State Developmental Disabilities, the Sunflower Bakery Advisory Committee, and the Federation of Greater Washington’s Inclusion Committee.  Currently, Eva, who holds Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Brandeis University, serves as the Board President of the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes.
