Kiara is a University of Maryland Social Work Student serving with the Volunteer Helping Hands program at CaringMatters. She is interested in social justice and advocacy, specifically for the underprivileged and aging population.  Having witnessed the negative impact of poor social conditions on vulnerable populations, Kiara was inspired to empower and advocate for those individuals in need of support. Kiara will be working at CaringMatters through May, 2020 as the field placement for her degree.
